Career Night - Speed Networking 2015

Picture of AHS Speed Networking Event

On Tuesday, January 20, 150 students across all Applied Health Sciences programs came out to pick the brains of the Faculty’s alumni. The annual career speed networking night allowed students to connect with alumni (in person or over Skype) to learn more about professions of interest and have their questions answered. The evening was divided into four rounds, allowing students to speak to four alumni within or outside of their program of study. With 25 alumni in attendance, students had a wide variety of professionals to choose from, including family medicine residents, a chiropractor, dietician, and recreation therapist. Students were able to continue their networking after the rounds over refreshments.

Sending a big thanks to everyone who attended Speed Networking making it a big success!

We’re looking forward to seeing what Speed Networking 2016 has in store!

Career View Mirror

Want to explore career options after completing your degree? Have you heard about the Career View Mirror? Well, you have now!

The Career View Mirror is an online tool that allows AHS students explore various careers by learning about what our current alumni are doing! Students can browse and filter alumni profiles by program, education level, and interests.

The Career View Mirror profiles include information about the alumni’s current profession, skills required for their job, how they used their degree to get to where they are today, and advice and resources for current students. Students can also make and save notes on profiles of interest to go back to at a later time. It’s a great way to learn about careers of interest and maybe even careers you’ve never heard of before!

Explore the profiles of an Occupational Therapist, Kinesiologist, Chief Executive Officer, Clinical Research Coordinator, Account Development Representative, Recreation Therapist, Critical Care Flight Paramedic, and more!

For more information on this service, check out the Career View Mirror webpage.

For more information on the services the Centre for Career Action provides, check out the Centre for Career Action website.
