AHSUM executive
AHSUM elections for each upcoming year occur in March of the previous Winter term. In the case that a full executive team is not elected at that time, by-elections will occur in the Fall term of that upcoming year. More information about each position can be found on the joining AHSUM page, or in our constitution.

AHSUM councillor
AHSUM councillors will take an active role as class representatives of their respective programs. A maximum of three Councillors per Department will be accepted through an application process.
This leadership position may serve as a great way to get involved and/or be used as a stepping stone to eventual involvement as an AHSUM executive member.
This position is offered on a termly basis, where you will work in your position two to five hours per week, but is subject to variances. What you get is what you put into it!
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Representing the student body of various years, of one Faculty of Health Department (Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences, School of Public Health Sciences, and Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies).
- Attending AHSUM Council meetings.
- Speaking for the interests of their class on matters discussed at AHSUM Council.
- Relaying pertinent information about AHSUM and AHSUM affiliate groups to their class.
- Working in conjunction with their relevant program rep concerning any undergraduate issues within their program.
Qualifications
- Ability to work as a contributing member of AHSUM
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to take initiative to get things done and act as a role model

Junior AHSUM Members (JOEYs)
Junior AHSUM members (JOEYs) will take an active role as a mentee to an AHSUM executive Director to learn their respective position duties and responsibilities.
This junior leadership position may serve as a great way to get involved and/or be used as a stepping stone to eventual involvement as an AHSUM executive member. A maximum of three JOEY’s per Director per term will be picked through an application process.
This position is offered on a termly basis, where you will work in your position two to five hours per week, but is subject to variances. What you get is what you put into it!
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Helping with the maintenance of AHSUM’s homepage and other online social media networks.
- Attending and learning procedures of the AHSUM office while being accompanied by their Directors.
- Promoting and attending AHSUM’s events, helping with set up and take down of the events.
- Taking on individual responsibilities to help their respective Director, and the AHSUM Executive as a whole.

- Ability to work as a contributing member of AHSUM
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to take initiative to get things done and act as a role model
Positions and roles
- Director of Services - services run through the AHSUM office such as snacks, games, office supplies
- Director of Events - developing and running events throughout the term
- Director of Promotions - creating promotional material
- Director of Communications - running social media accounts and updating website
