The First Bi-Annual Industrial Partners Meeting of the Waterloo AI Institute, has been an excellent success as per the testimony of a number of the attendees, whether industrial partners, faculty members or students.
The two-day event was an excellent opportunity for the Institute's industrial sponsors and partners to meet and exchange ideas with other partners, faculty members and graduate students. The program included two-panel sessions, six industrial talks and one keynote presentation on the future of autonomous vehicles. It also included a tour of the newly established RoboHub, a state of the art autonomous robotic infrastructure, which is an integral research unit affiliated with the AI Institute.
A number of our partners have committed to continue supporting the Institute and even increase the amount of their participation in research funding they are providing to faculty members and researchers.
The next major event of the Institute will be the Reverse co-op/short course to be provided to our sponsors on advances on deep learning networks and their applications to the Industry.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
