The Biostatistics Training Initiative (BTI) runs a monthly videoconference seminar series to discuss the statistical and methodological challenges that arise in cancer research, and to address advanced issues encounter in clinical and population health research. Seminars are held at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (Toronto), Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre (Hamilton), University of Waterloo (Math 3 3001, Waterloo), and online via WebEx/teleconferencing.
These seminars focus on
- the reporting of recently completed cancer clinical trials within the group and internationally,
- the recent developments in the design and analysis of clinical trials in oncology,
- the statistical and methodological challenges that arise in planning, conducting, analyzing and interpreting trials, and
- the reporting of ongoing methodological research.
The goal is to engage communications between clinical researchers and statisticians. Student interns and fellows are encouraged to present the findings of their work during their internships in this seminar.
