Do you know that there are currently four different blocks that allow you to add images onto a page? These blocks are banner image, full width image, copy text, and image gallery. Each block provides its own functionality on WCMS 3 which gives users more creative freedom when building the layout of their sites.
Banner images
Banner image blocks, as covered previously, allow for the addition of text, captions, and links. They can also rotate through multiple images. See below for an example of a banner image!
Full width images
Full width image blocks functions similarly to a banner where images will automatically take on the full width of the section or column it is placed in on the page. To the right is an example of a full width image block used in a two column larger left (67%, 33%) section.
Copy text images
Copy text blocks also allow users to add images within text. Images can be inserted before text, after text, and text can also be wrapped around an image.
The copy text block also provides the option of changing an image’s size and alignment. This can be done using the Edit media button found in the WYSIWYG editor. The image in this paragraph is an example of how images can be incorporated into the text of a copy text block. The image is set to be left aligned with a width of 350 pixels and height of 225 pixels.
Image galleries
Image gallery blocks allow images to be displayed in a rotation. The block displays one image at a time and features previous and next buttons that users can use to navigate through the different images included in the gallery. Below is an example of an image gallery.
