Elizabeth Laird lecture: the eye as a window on the brian

Thursday, October 31, 2019

This year's annual ELIZABETH LAIRD memorial lecture will be presented by our own Professor Melanie Campbell.

Professor Campbell is invited to speak on her research theme of "the eye as a window on the brain", specifically in the context of Alzheimer's disease. Using polarised light, protein deposits that are seen in brain of those with Alzheimer's can be seen in the retina. This innovative research could potentially assist with earlier diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

The public lecture will take place on Wednesday November 13, from 6 - 7:30 pm with reception to follow.
