Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Panel

Join us for an engaging and insightful Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion panel at this year's CUMC. The panel will explore critical topics regarding DEI in mathematics including: Barriers to entry in mathematics and strategies to overcome them The role of students and future academics in fostering inclusion The importance of mentorship in creating supportive mathematical communities Challenges and Opportunities in Diversifying Mathematics What Equity and Inclusion Looks Like in 2025 and beyond Our panelists will include a diverse group of math professionals who will share their perspectives and experiences within the field. Some panelists will be available 30 minutes before the session for one-on-one conversations with attendees. The DEI panel is in collaboration with the Math Faculty’s equity office and is open to all registered conference participants and we look forward to your participation!

Considering the path of academia after graduation? Join us for a panel discussion exploring the opportunities within academic mathematicscareers. Connect with Math Alumni who have built rewarding careers in university and research settings across various mathematical disciplines. Come join us in this panel discussion where we explore the limitless possibilities of non-academic careers in Math. Meet and talk to Math Alumni in all different fields from Bio to Tech. Have your chance to ask questions and see how your math skills and knowledge can be used to contribute to the world outside of academia.
