Susan Tighe was named one of 91 inaugural members of The College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists. The nominees were nominated by 51 Canadian universities and the National Research Council.

Together they will address issued of particular concern to new scholars, artists and scientists, for the advancement of understanding and the benefit of society, taking advantage of the interdisciplinary approaches fostered by the establishment of the College

Susan Tighe's research is focused on sustainable pavement, and designing infrastructure with a long, efficient life, reducing the need for later maintenance. Waterloo Engineering's laboratory facilities allow Susan and her research group to test their pavement designs under extreme conditions.

CPATT and Chair Seminar

CPATT and the Norman W. McLeod Chair hosted a Seminar on May 15, 2014 on "Understanding Road Network Needs Through Performance Measurement and Monitoring". The guest speaker was Dr. Theuns Henning, a Professor in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
