Biography

Dr. Li is an Adjunct Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Waterloo, and a member of the Principal Researchers in the Pavement Group at the Centre for Pavement and Transportation Technology (CPATT). His research interests are in the areas of road asset management, including highway performance measures and prediction modelling, automation of pavement condition data collection, development of pavement evaluation standards and new technologies, pavement network maintenance programming and investment planning. Dr. Li works for the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) and his main responsibilities include: technical support of pavement management system operation and its wide applications to various MTO business acitivities. He has over 20 years experience in highway engineering and is a licensed professional engineer in teh province of Ontario. He has authored and co-authored over 90 referred papers and technical reports. Dr. Li has also worked for the World Bank and Asia Development Bank on a large number of road maintenance related international projects.
