IDI is the division within the Grand River Friendship Society, which aims to advance social cohesion through personal interaction. GRFS-IDI promotes respect and mutual understanding among people of all cultures and faiths through dialogue and partnership, enduring interfaith and intercultural cooperation, tolerance, and dialogue by sharing differences and similarities to enhance civil society. GRFS-IDI encourages the development of human values and advances diversity and multiculturalism in the community to eliminate or reduce false stereotypes, prejudices and unjustified fears through direct human communication, and IDI also has the mission to contribute to improving diversity, pluralism, and multiculturalism throughout Canada. In this regard, GRFS-IDI organizes social, educational, and cultural activities such as lectures, seminars, conferences, discussion forums, luncheons, informative dinners, programs for communities, youths and students, intercultural exchange trips, courses, and outreach programs.
