Unpacking the international governance framework of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Moderated by Waterloo Professor Ian Rowlands, the discussion explored how COP fits into the global climate change governance system, and featured guest speakers who shared their own COP experiences.

On November 5, 2021, the Climate Law & Governance Day 2021 global symposium was held during COP26 in Glasgow and attracted over 1,100 registrants from over 120 countries in-person and online. IC3 member, Imre Szeman, is among the Royal Society of Canada’s Class of 2020. Professor Imre Szeman from the department of Communication Arts has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC), one of Canada’s most distinguished scholarly honours.

The University of Waterloo's applied research network, Partners for Action (P4A), released a new report "Canadian Voices on Flood Risk 2020: Findings from a national survey about how we should manage an increasingly costly and common peril". The report looks at Canadian’s perceptions and attitudes on flood risk awareness and management.
