Call for Posters, Projects & Art Installations NOW OPEN!
The Student Climate Council invites University of Waterloo undergrad and grad students to submit proposals to present at the Student Showcase at this year’s Climate Con 2025 hosted on Friday February 7th 2025. The Climate Con is an annual climate change convention, organized to showcase the contributions of students across all disciplines that tackle climate change.
Call for Poster Details
Who: all undergraduate and graduate students across all six faculties from UWaterloo are eligible to apply. Students can submit individually or in a group.
What:

Submit to present an academic poster, project, infographic or art installation related to climate change, climate action, and/or community building.

Posters can focus on a research project or end-of-class assignment or climate-related community project you are involved in.

Students can use pre-existing posters that were used for class projects or past conferences.

General poster dimensions are 36 x 48in or 48 x 36 in, previous sizes accepted.
When: Successful candidates will present at the Student Showcase at Climate Con 2025 on February 7, 2025 from 12:00-1:30pm. (Posters will need to be set up at the start of the day at 9:00am). A student representative from each poster MUST be present during this session.
Recognition: Each poster will be assessed by Faculty judges and the top three best posters or art installations will be recognized. Attendees will also vote for their favorite poster and the winner of the popular vote will also be recognized. Students accepted to present at the Student Showcase can receive a certificate of participation.
Submission Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated by the following criteria:

Climate-related: Does the submission have a topic and content that is relevant to climate science and/or action?

Innovation: Does the submission show innovative ideas and/or research?

Clear language: Does the submission use clear language to share its key messages?
