IC3's Kirsten M. Müller is one of 289 signatories calling for a new marine protected area in the Antarctic

A new commentary piece published in Nature outlines the current threats to the Western Antarctic Peninsula and identifies actions necessary to protect the area, including the region’s precious biodiversity and the surrounding seas.

Sept 24 event posterLast month, the Interdisciplinary Centre on Climate Change (IC3) and Faculty of Applied Health Sciences (AHS) hosted the “Global climate connections: How changes to our environment, food systems, and health will shape our future” webinar event.

The University of Waterloo's applied research network, Partners for Action (P4A), released a new report "Canadian Voices on Flood Risk 2020: Findings from a national survey about how we should manage an increasingly costly and common peril". The report looks at Canadian’s perceptions and attitudes on flood risk awareness and management. 

IC3 member, Maria Strack, named fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) and member of the Royal Society of Canada’s College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists.
