To have a closer look at Canada's party platforms through the lens of climate change, IC3 hosted a pre-election party platform panel discussion on October 10, 2019. The event brought together four of the University of Waterloo's climate research experts to discuss how the federal parties are addressing climate change.

A Waterloo School of Architecture professor’s research has captured a top sustainable design award and will be showcased at Expo 2020 taking place in Dubai next year.

New research highlights state of local adaptation planning in Canada as extreme forest fires, urban flooding and severe storms make frequent headlines across Canada. 

Juan Moreno-Cruz is an associate professor at the School of Environment, Enterprise, and Development, University of Waterloo. His research involves the interaction of energy systems, technological change, and climate policy. Moreno-Cruz’s most recent work provides a look into the process of energy transitions by showing how access to energy affects the organization of the economy in cities, and the way energy consumption pollutes the environment.
