Driving directions and instructions
You will be provided with instructions on where to go once we have established a mutually convenient time for you to come to the lab to participate.
Our lab is located on the University of Waterloo campus in the Early Childhood Education Center area (ECEC). The ECEC is located in the PAS building (Psychology, Anthropology, and Sociology) on campus. Here are the directions to the parking area (EC-Lot) if you're coming from University Ave West.

NOTE: A researcher will greet you at the gate and let you into the EC-Lot. Please do NOT pay for parking or park in the clinic parking lot.
From University Ave West:
If you are travelling westward on University Avenue, you will need to head towards Seagram Avenue (Seagram is located between Westmount and Phillip) and then turn RIGHT onto Seagram (essentially, you will be turning right onto the South Campus Hall UW entrance). Once you have turned right on Seagram, you will then turn left immediately at the first stop sign to travel along Ring Road. The parking lot will be the third entrance on your right (EC-Lot outside of the Early Childhood Education Center). Once there, a researcher will greet you at the parking lot to let you in and escort you and your child to the Cognitive Development Lab (located on the 1st floor of the PAS building). They will also be assisting you to exit when we are done.
From Highway 401:
- From east or west, follow highway 401 to exit 278, Highway 8 West.
- Follow 8 West to 7 East (an expressway called the Conestoga Parkway).
- Be sure to take the exit for 7 East, not 7 West.
- Keep left; do not exit on 7 East (Victoria Street and Guelph).
- Expressway becomes 85 North (formerly 86).
- Exit at University Avenue West and drive west about 2 miles (3 km).
