Bianca is a fourth-year student in the Honours Psychology B.Sc. program at the University of Waterloo. She is currently completing her Honours Thesis under the supervision of Dr. Nilsen, in collaboration with the Cognitive Development Lab. Her thesis examines how shyness and social anxiety are related to children's ability to understand another person's perspective during a communicative task. More broadly, Bianca is interested in understanding children’s and adolescents’ social and

emotional development, particularly how psychological difficulties can emerge and affect their everyday experiences.

Outside of the lab, Bianca enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing board games, and taking yoga and Pilates classes.
