The Computing and Financial Management (CFM) program is happy to welcome Associate Professor, James Thompson from the School of Accounting and Finance and Professor, Justin Wan from the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science as its new CFM Co-Directors.

Both professors bring a wealth of knowledge to the program with their respective teaching and research in the areas of computer Science and finance. Professor Thompson is a full-time finance professor who has a degree in computer science and economics and Professor Wan is a full-time computer science professor whose research stems in computational finance. Their combined expertise in computer science and finance will help to ensure the long-term success of the CFM program.

As Co-Directors, Professor Thompson and Professor Wan will be responsible for overseeing curriculum changes, reviewing transfer requests, and approving academic progression, among others.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to outgoing CFM Co-Directors, Professor Yuying Li and Associate Professor Alan Huang for their leadership in the CFM program. Professor Huang served for five consecutive years with the program and is now focussing on continuing his research on sabbatical in China. Professor Li served for 10 months as part of her second tenure in the Co-Director role and is now looking forward to growing the Data Science graduate program with the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science as its new director. We wish them both the best in their next endeavours.

Our students are excited to welcome and thank our Co-Directors for their support in the program.
