Preparing to graduate
It's time to graduate. Congratulations!
Graduation is right around the corner and what a journey this has been. All the late nights, co-op interviews, and countless study sessions have led to this.
Your next steps are to finish out your classes and to get ready for your upcoming convocation celebration.
Since CFM is part of both the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Mathematics, our students rotate each year between which faculty they graduate with.
In 2026, CFM students will be graduating with the Faculty of Mathematics. You will still earn a Bachelor of Computing and Financial Management degree. Check for ceremony dates and times for the Faculty of Mathematics.
Verify your graduation requirements
Every student is responsible for ensuring that they satisfy degree requirements. Review your requirements using the undergraduate calendar. Make sure to use the appropriate calendar to check your requirements. The calendar automatically defaults to the current calendar year. Select the calendar you are using for your degree by selecting “Archives” and navigate to your calendar.
You must follow the rules of one undergraduate calendar. It is recommended that you use the calendar year that you began your studies.
To be eligible to graduate, you must complete or have:
- 40 courses (or 20 course units)
- 8 full-time academic terms
- 5 or 6 work terms
- 5 PD courses (including PD1 and P11)
- 60% CAV (cumulative average)
- 70% SMAV (special major average – all arts courses)
- 60% MAV (math major average – all math courses)
Notes
- Repeated courses cannot be counted as two classes, even if the course was passed both times.
- CS116 is not a requirement; it is a general elective.
Request a degree audit
If you would like to verify the completion of your course and co-op requirements, please send an email with your student ID.
The Program Manager will review your studies and confirm your remaining requirements.
Write the CFA, Level I exam
If you are interested in pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, dates to write the Level 1 exam are typically scheduled in December. Register to participate.
Submit an Application to Graduate
If you are following our recommended pathway of courses and co-op sequence, you will likely complete your degree requirements in April. The deadline to apply for June convocation is March 1.
Apply for graduate studies
If you are interested in pursuing graduate studies, verify the application deadlines.
If you have any questions about your studies, upcoming ceremonies or events, or post-graduate opportunities, contact your Program Manager.
Attend the CFM Grad Celebration
In winter term, we celebrate all of our students who are eligible to graduate at Spring Convocation (June) and Fall Convocation (October) each year.
You will receive an invitation to attend this event. In addition to our future graduates, we invite past and present Co-Directors and past and present Program Managers to attend to celebrate you.
Requests for official documents (Proof of Enrolment, official transcripts, and early degrees)
If you need to proof of your academic record or degree before your scheduled convocation ceremony, you can request these documents. Availability of these documents will depend on the timing of your request.
If you have questions about requesting official documents or need further clarification of the information that you might need for graduate studies, US visa applications, or more, contact the Centre.
