As Judge Brett Kavanaugh faces the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee during the second day of his Supreme Court confirmation hearings, debate rages on Capitol Hill if sufficient time is available for senators to substantially review the 42,000 documents released the night before his hearing was scheduled to begin concerning his time in the George W. Bush White House.

Researchers at the University of Waterloo and the University of Maryland have collaborated with the Comcast Applied AI Research Lab to improve the voice query understanding capabilities of the Comcast Xfinity X1 entertainment platform.

The David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science is pleased to announce that Professor David Toman has been promoted to full professor effective July 1, 2018.

Professor Tamer Özsu of the Data Systems Group, along with Professor Ed Lank of the Human-Computer Interation Group, have been named 2018 David R. Cheriton Faculty Fellows, positions they will hold until 2021. These prestigious three-year fellowships support the work of leading faculty members in the School of Computer Science and are made possible through the David R. Cheriton Endowment for Excellence in Computer Science.

The Association for Computing Machinery has named David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science Professor Khuzaima Daudjee an ACM Senior Member.
