BeanFest Study

Study Information

Do you have a child that is 6, 7 or 8 years old? We are always looking for children to participate in our "BeanFest" study!

Young children are constantly encountering new things in their daily life and often form an opinion about these new things quite quickly, like a new vegetable they decide they dislike before even trying it. In this project, we’re looking at how young children form these attitudes about new things.

During your session, your child will play a game called BeanFest where they learn about what makes virtual beans safe vs. unsafe and decide whether or not to select the beans based on these set criteria. How children answer these questions will help us understand how they learn about the world around them.

This study is anticipated to take 30 minutes.

When you arrive at our building, a researcher will provide you with a free parking pass and walk with you to our lab. At the end of the study we offer your child a book or small toy as an extra thank-you!

Please fill out the sign-up sheet below to participate in the study. We request that parents or legal guardians fill out this brief form.

Thank you so much for your time and we look forward to meeting you!
