Management Engineering 2024
Natalie

Hi! My name is Natalie and I’m in my 4A term studying Management Engineering and graduating in 2024. Management Engineering is an example of an interdisciplinary approach to solving and managing complex problems. Since we study the process of planning, designing, and optimizing solutions, I’ve learned how to apply these concepts in my co-op experiences as well.

Waterloo Engineering in one word:

Collaborative

I choose Waterloo Engineering because:

The different engineering programs available, as well as the co-op program
were both driving factors for my decision to choose Waterloo Engineering.

The best thing about my program is:

The group projects— everyone is working together and helping each other.

About my Co-op experience:

In my 5 internships, I’ve worked in different industries and positions. I
started off wanting to work in industrial engineering related roles. In my
second co-op, I pivoted and worked at a startup as a software engineer. I
enjoyed driving change and having an opinion in the products we deliver.
My courses in economics and business also helped me consider roles in
management, and in my 3rd co-op I worked at RBC Capital Markets as a
Technical Analyst. I decided that I enjoyed I working in tech more, and from
there I’ve worked as a Software Engineer at Zynga Games and Apple. I’ll
be joining Amazon in the Fall in California as a Software Engineer for my
last term.

I wish I had known before I came:

Exchange requires an 80+ average! Outside the classroom, I’m involved with:
Intramurals, Tech+, and volleyball.

A fun project I’ve completed:

NBA Draft Predictor projector that uses Machine Learning.

One more thing about me:

I’ve been in the Waterloo continuous cycle for job search twice now, but
came out with really good jobs! Job search is never easy, but everything
always works out
