You’re invited to attend the first-ever Environment Graduate Student Conference!

The Environment Graduate Student Conference is right around the corner! This full-day conference takes place on August 18th, from 11am -6pm EST. Featuring a wide array of research, this diverse event will gather environment graduate students from all departments.

Hey new Environmental Graduate Students, join us September 5th from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm for orientation! Come out and meet your new fellow graduate students and learn about what the environmental facilities at Waterloo have to offer. Likewise, come get an exclusive tour by EGSA members of the Environmental buildings.

The Tentative Schedule is as Follows;

Join us for a bonfire at the Laurel Creek Firepit (across from EV3) on September 12th from 7:00-10:00 PM come catch up with fellow Environment Grad students. There will be free snacks!

Join us for the EGSA Environmental Grad student Conference: on September 22nd from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. We invite you to join us, present your research findings to your fellow graduate students or come out to hear what your fellow students are researching!

On October 16th come out to EGSA TA/RA and Supervisor Coffee Social at 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Come out, have a coffee and snack and celebrate yourself and your Supervisor and all the hard work that we all do on a daily basis. Stationary will be available to write thank you/appreciation note to your TA/RA/Supervisor or to anyone else of your choice. Also come catch up and hangout with your fellow TA’s and RA’s!

Looking to be a part of EGSA and be a EGSA Committee, then look no further. EGSA is looking for new committee members to join in 2024. The EGSA 2024 Committee Election Self-Nomination Form is a self-nomination form, student looking to join the committee are required to be a part of:

• School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability (SERS)
• School of Environment, Enterprise, and Development (SEED)
• Geography and Environmental Management (GEM)

All EGSA positions have a commitment from January 2024 to December 2024. The deadline to apply with this nomination form is October 23th at 11:59 PM. If you have any additional questions about the elections process, or about the EGSA, please email us at egsa@uwaterloo.ca. 

On October 27th come out to EGSA Hiking from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. We will be meeting at the Robert S. Dorney Ecology Garden and heading out together. Come out and enjoy nature while we walk through the Geotrail of Waterloo. Bring your friends and colleagues and catch up while enjoying a peaceful hike.
