Like everything else, Take Back the Night will look a little bit different this year. While we won't be gathering to march in the streets, we will still be reclaiming our cities, our streets, and our safety.
This year, people of all genders will be able to participate in Take Back the Night by engaging in our photo scavenger hunt! Closer to the day, we will announce various locations in Kitchener and on University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University campuses for you to venture out and find. Each location will have a Take Back the Night poster with info for you to learn something new about sexual and gender-based violence in our community. We then ask that you help us foster the sense of empowerment and community we usually find at a march by sharing a photo with the posters using #TBTNWR2020.
Please practice social distancing and other COVID-19 safety guidelines while participating.
More details will be announced as we get closer. If you have questions or accessibility needs that we can accommodate, please email Meaghan Ross, Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Coordinator at m23ross@uwaterloo.ca.
