UW Meet the Legal Clubs

Women in PreLaw, in collaboration with UW Mock Trial, Legal Studies Society, UW Law and Business Nexus, will join the event hosted by UW Moot Court. This event is a beginning-of-term event targeted towards first-year students interested in pre-law programs (and any of these clubs) and will serve to improve member engagement and gain exposure.

As part of the Water Institute's WaterTalks lecture series, Dr. Ryan Emmanuel, Associate Professor of Hydrology, Duke University, North Carolina, US, will present: On the swamp: Indigenous environmental justice across North Carolina’s coastal plain.

World Wetlands Day 2025

The University of Waterloo’s WWD event will be held in person at Federation Hall (FED) on Monday, February 3rd2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm EST. The event will consist of a poster session and reception followed by a distinguished lecture by Dr. Hilary Dugan, entitled: "Should we care about freshwater salinization?"

Public Talk with Dr. Alexis Dolphin | Making it Work: Collaboration in Bioarchaeology

In this public talk, Dr. Dolphin will explore what it means to be a researcher aiming to do ‘good science’, while also doing ‘science for good’.

As a bioarchaeologist who works with human remains from archaeological sites in order to reconstruct the lives of past peoples, Dr. Dolphin’s research revolves around collaboration. Working with the dead requires strong relationships with, and sensitivities to, not only your colleagues and national governments, but to the local communities without whom you could not do your work at all.
