Knowledge Integration Seminar: Life after KI

Friday, February 3, 2023 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm EST (GMT -05:00)

This panel includes BKI alumni working in multiple disciplines and completing post-graduate study.

  • Cayley MacArthur (BKI’13), Assistant Professor, Interaction Design and User Experience Research, Stratford School of Interaction Design and Business
  • Cynthia Zhou (BKI’14), graduated from KI with a joint honours in mathematics then continued to obtain a MMath in Statistics from Waterloo the following year. After a brief stint as a Statistician at Statistics Canada, Cynthia discovered the excitement of confronting the kinds of interdisciplinary challenges prevalent in Data Science and has remained as a Data Scientist ever since. As a Lead Data Scientist at Medical Solutions Inc, Cynthia now tackles problems related to medical staffing such as supply and demand forecasting, job matching, and recommending fair market value for nurses.
  • Matthew Gerrits (BKI’21), graduated from KI with a joint honours in political science and minors in public policy and economics. After spending a two year stint of his undergraduate degree as an elected student leader at Waterloo, Matthew was inspired to go into the University of Waterloo Master of Public Service Program, where he served in co-op at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and is currently in his final term.
  • Dinesh Moro (BKI’21), graduated from KI with a minor in kinesiology and aspirations to become a physiotherapist. After taking a year away from academics, he decided to follow his curiosity in public health instead (originally sparked by his senior research project). Now, Dinesh is thoroughly enjoying his studies as a first-year student in the University of Toronto's Masters in Social and Behavioural Health Sciences program.
