$2 million received from Ontario Research Fund for CSAM research

$2 million from the Ontario Research Fund (ORF) was recently awarded for a joint research project between Dr. Bertrand Jodoin from the University of Ottawa and Drs. Hamid Jahed, Adrian Gerlich and Elliot Biro from the University of Waterloo. The funding will be allocated towards research on cold spray applications for:

1. Lightening vehicles to reduce carbon emissions
2. Joining material surfaces using cold spray coatings
3. Repairing existing vehicle parts using 3D additive manufacturing
4. Bettering electric vehicle batteries and their heat management capabilities

This research ultimately aims to improve the environment by reducing waste in the automotive industry and improve vehicle efficiency for consumers.
