The SST Series P is a cold-spray system used by the FATSLab team for cold spray additive manufacturing research. The system comes equipped with the following pieces of equipment:
- A console box provided by CenterLine (Windsor) Limited where deposition parameters (e.g., carrier gas temperature, feed rate) can be selected
- A deposition bay that permits safe deposition without powder or material leakage
- A powder feeder from Thermach Inc. that supplies powder to the nozzle attached in the deposition bay
- A wet dust collector from Diversitech that uses high air pressure to collect residue powder from the deposition bay
- A proprietary controller that controls the nozzle's movement and deposition in two dimensions
- A PC that can be used to upload movement and deposition programs for the proprietary controller
The SST Series P is a low-pressure cold spray system, allowing maximum gas temperatures of 550°C and maximum gas pressures of 250 psi.
