Uniaxial
extensometer
An extensometer
is
used
for
measuring
strain
of
an
object.
Our
lab
currently
has
3
uniaxial
contact
extensometers
for
use.
Uniaxial
extensometers
measures
strain
of
objects
in
one
direction.
Biaxial
extensometer
A
biaxial
extensometer
measures
the
strain
of
an
object
in
two
directions,
tensile/compressional
and
torsional.
Our
lab
has
1
biaxial
extensometer.
Calibrator
The
calibrator
is
used
to
set
the
zero
position
for
the
extensometers.
It
features
an
autozero
button
which
significantly
simplifies
the
process,
a
digital
display,
and
2
inches
of
measuring
range.
Interrogator
The
sm125
interrogator
is
used
to
measure
many
different
types
of
optical
sensors
such
as
FBG’s
(Fiber
Bragg
Gratting)
and
LBG’s
(long
period
gratings).
The
interrogator
is
capable
of
high
accurate
measurements
of
strain,
displacement,
and
temperature.
