One word, many movements

Join FemPhys for a discussion of the pluralities of feminism. Examine together what is has meant to folks, past and present, to be part of feminist movements.  What are the goals of these feminisms? How have movements worked to accomplish these goals?  What have their shortcomings been?  Let's explore, critique, and learn from history in order to advance the fight for equity, in gender and beyond.

As scientists, mathematicians, and knowledge producers, we all use scientific systems of logic to make deductions and predictions. More than that, scientific logic is a part of our culture---it also informs social judgements. Where does this system of logic come from? Is it really objective? In this discussion, we’ll share what we know about scientific logic, what makes it special, and how it impacts scientists and society at large.
