Welcome Antoine!
For the Fall 2020 Term Benjamin Guido (Rx2022 Pharmacy Student) joined our group. He is evaluating novel microfluidic culture technologies to study gene delivery into retinal cells under real-time conditions.
First ever webex PhD Thesis defense at UW by Lokesh Narsineni: Development of peptide-modified gemini nanoplexes for gene delivery to the retina.
Congratulations to Lokesh for the excellent defense.
Roger' Thesis Title: Development of in vitro 3D model systems for screening non-viral neurotrophic factor gene therapies for the retina.
He received the Pearson Gold Medal for this work.
Congratulations! - Roger Chen was recently awarded the “2014-Young Scholar Award” sponsored by Dove Medical Press. The Award was presented at the 12th Annual Current Issues in Medicine, Biotech and Pharma Conference held at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York on September 17-18, 2014.

Gemini-phospholipid nanoparticles as gene carriers for glaucoma gene therapy
Ding Wen (Roger) Chen and Marianna Foldvari
Development and characterization of a co-culture of healthy and oxidatively stressed retinal cells as a model for evaluating gene delivery systems for the treatment of glaucoma
Congratulations to Chilbert Dong for successfully defending his Masters thesis titled "Characterization of Gemini Nanoparticle Assembly by Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy".
Congratulations to Samih Alqawlaq for successfully defending his Masters thesis titled “Non-viral gemini surfactant-phospholipid nanoparticles for topical gene delivery to the retina.”
Ding Wen (Roger) Chen received his BSc from the Biomedical Science program at the University of Waterloo and has joined the Foldvari group as a Master student working on applying gene therapy to impede the progression of glaucoma.
Dr. Foldvari is an invited speaker at the 9th International Conference on NanoScience & Nanotechnologies (NN12) in Thessaloniki, Greece, July 3-6, 2012.
