Marjan received her BSc degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Shiraz School of Science, Iran. she really enjoyed doing research in biological and medical sciences, so she decided to continue her education in Immunology. She completed MSc and PhD degrees in Immunology in the School of Medicine, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Iran. In 2006, she was awarded a one year research scholarship from Iran's Ministry of Health and Education to do research in one of the most prestige immunopharmacology labs, directed by Professor Carlo Riccardi, at the department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, Perugia University, Italy. She then continued her research on immunomodulatory effects of plant natural products and immunotherapy of autoimmune diseases in Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, where she worked as an assistant professor at the department of Immunology. She was also involved in several research projects as a principal investigator and thesis supervisor. Based on her solid background in immunopharmacology and immunotherapy, she joined Dr. Foldvari’s research group at the School of Pharmacy in March 2013. Her research project is designing novel nanomedicine and gene therapy approaches for the treatment of autoimmune diseases.
