The Geospatial Intelligence and Mapping (GIM) group brings together a multidisciplinary team of faculty, students, postdoctoral fellows, and visiting scholars with expertise spanning geomatics, geography/geoscience, computer science, mathematics/statistics, and engineering. The group is co-directed by Dr. Shunde Yin, Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), and Dr. Jonathan Li, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management (GEM) and Adjunct Professor in GEM, CEE, and the Department of Systems Design Engineering (SYDE) at the University of Waterloo. Dr. Li is also a founding member of the Waterloo Artificial Intelligence Institute. This breadth of disciplinary expertise is evident in the wide range of research projects and publications produced by the group.
