Research Interests
I am completing my MSc thesis under co-supervision of Prof. Maria Antonia Brovelli at the Polytechnic University of Milan and Prof. Jonathan Li at the University of Waterloo. I have accepted the offer and will start my PhD program under supervision of Prof. Jonathan Li at the Department of Geography and Environmental Management, University of Waterloo in January 2025. My research interests involve LiDAR remote sensing, point cloud processing and understanding with a focus on 3D object detection and point cloud segmentation. These techniques can be applied to various fields like urban digital twins and autonomous driving. I am currently working on the semantic segmentation of mobile LiDAR point clouds using advanced deep learning techniques and transformer neural networks.
I am particularly passionate about utilizing AI for the processing of earth observation images and LiDAR point clouds. My work explores spatial analysis and its novel applications in urban mapping and environmental monitoring.
