Research Interests

The applications of mobile laser scanning enable the accurate capture of the shape and size of the physical objects through the point clouds data, which provides a way to construct a digital 3-dimensional representation of the scanned object in the computer for further analysis. The laser scanning technology facilitates the measurement and analysis in the fields of geographical management, such as urban modelling and land cover classification. My research interests focus on the efficient processing of LiDAR-derived point clouds data and the 3D modelling of urban environment. Specifically, for my bachelor thesis, I intend to explore the potentials of using LiDAR-derived HD maps in the urban development and management, in relation to the construction of Smart City.
