The
Haptic
Experience
Lab
(HX
Lab)
at
the
University
of
Waterloo
is
looking
for
an
individual
to
lead
day-to-day
operations
for
our
Haptiverse
project.
The
Haptiverse
will
be
an
online,
open-source
platform
for
sharing,
reusing,
and
learning
about
haptic
experiences,
with
the
aim
to
help
hapticians
build
on
each
other's
work.
The
Haptiverse
will
also
serve
as
a
database
and
API
for
machine
learning
and
large-scale
investigation
into
HX
design.
This
position
could
be
structured
as
a
part/full-time
research
assistantship,
a
thesis
project
at
the
Masters
or
PhD
level,
or
as
a
part
of
a
postdoctoral
position.
Applicants
should
have
experience
with
web
application
development
and
design,
and
familiarity
with
technologies
such
as
Javascript,
HTML/CSS,
Node,
React,
and
MongoDB
or
similar.
The
ideal
candidate
will
have
project
management
skills,
ideally
in
agile
software
development,
and
experience
with
and
a
passion
for
haptic
technology
and
open
source
software.
