Ludwig Wall
Ludwig Wilhelm Wall (BA and MA in IT-Systems Engineering) completed his PhD in Computer Science supervised by Daniel Vogel and Oliver Schneider in 2025. He is interested in the application of haptic sensations in Virtual Reality (VR) environments, and what influence Fabrication methods can have on the ephemeral nature of games.
Punit Kunjam
Punit was an MMath student in Computer Science with a strong background in game development and simulation. His passion lies in harnessing the power of AR/VR technologies to craft innovative immersive systems aimed at improving the lives of individuals with disabilities. Additionally, his commitment extends to the realm of healthcare where he's interested in the development of simulation-based surgical training systems that leverage robotics and mixed-reality technologies.
Sahand Ajami
Sahand was an MASc student in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering under the supervision of Arash Arami and Oliver Schneider. His research was on the efficacy of cutaneous haptic feedback on the sense of embodiment and motor learning in upper-limb rehabilitation.
Tor-Salve Dalsgaard
Tor-Salve (he/him) is interested in the experiences humans have when interacting with technology. As a PhD student, he studied haptic experiences through the lens of neuroscience, psychology, and philosophy -- and a little chemistry. Tor-Salve remains excited about all sorts of sensory input and what humans make of them.
Ahmed Anwar
Ahmed was a Masters student in the Management Science department supervised by Oliver Schneider (graduated 2022). Previously, he completed his undergrad from Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan with an interdisciplinary coursework in Management Science and Computer Science. He hopes to pursue research for improving haptic experience through data analytics.
Karthikan Theivendran
Karthik was an MSc student in Electrical and Computer Engineering (completed 2022). He received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering at Monash University. Karthik's interests lie in Human-Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence, Haptic Computing and Wearables. He has industrial experience in developing and commercializing wearable technology products.
Diana Khater
Diana is interested in applications of haptics in medicine. She is a BSc graduate in Biology at the University of Waterloo. Her research focuses on hand receptors involved in the haptic experience. She hopes to build online simulations to help designers better design haptic products.
Suji Nivedita Sathiyamurthy
Suji is a Master's student in the Management Sciences Department. She is interested in data-driven product design and development. Her research is based on developing a tool to evaluate Haptics experience.
Pelisha Samithamby
Pelisha is interested in Human-computer interaction (HCI), user experience (UX) design, and software development. Her research focuses on how we can create and manage large collections of haptic content.
Nicole Dillen
Co-supervised by Professors Krzysztof Czarnecki and Oliver Schneider, Nicolepursued her masters in Computer Science with a research focus on passenger-vehicle interaction in the context of autonomous vehicles.
Erin Kim
Erin is currently completing her BA in Honours Psychology at the University of Waterloo. Her research within the lab focuses on exploring user interactions with haptic technology to identify and define the factors that create a positive Haptic Experience (HX).
