What is happening? The new version of Microsoft Teams will be enabled at the University of Waterloo. This version delivers improved performance and enhanced reliability and security resulting in a faster, simpler, smarter, and more flexible app.
When is this happening? Tuesday, February 20, 2024. It may take up to 1-2 days (at the most) for devices to see the change. On some devices you may need to manually make the switch by clicking on the ‘Try the new Teams’ toggle.
Why is this happening? Microsoft is retiring the current ("classic") version of Teams on March 31, 2024.
What do I need to do? See support resources for switching to new Teams, and if needed, how to revert to classic Teams (available until March 31).
