On April 20, the Retirees Association in partnership with University Relations, invited past alumni, staff and professors to a 60th tour on campus and a luncheon.
The 60th Retiree started with opening remarks at Federation Hall from Kelly McManus, Senior Director of Community Relations & Events, and Alan George, president of the Retirees Association.
Retirees were taken on guided tours by student ambassadors from the Visitors Centre. The ambassadors directed the tours to some the recent additions to campus, including the expansions of Hagey Hall, Burt Matthews Hall and Needles Hall, the Quantum Nano Centre, East Campus, Health Services, the Sedra Design Centre, and the campus colleges. Not only did they explore the new parts of campus, but their former favourite buildings.
Retirees walked down memory lane as they reflected on their memories from their years working at the University and sharing their stories behind some of their favourite buildings.
The guided tours were followed by a luncheon at Federation Hall that featured remarks from President and Vice-Chancellor, Feridun Hamdullahpur. During the luncheon, retirees took the time to re-connect with their past colleagues.
