From July 2-4, 2018, graduate researcher Thana Hussein had the distinct honors to showcase her research at the British Computer Society 32nd Human Computer Interaction Conference (BHCI-2018) held in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Thana’s conference paper, "The Impact of Design on Feelings of Trust of Online Information for Family Caregivers of People with Dementia,” systematically investigates design elements of a search engine results page (SERP) that significantly impact trust of family caregivers of people living with dementia; this research will be used inform CARE-RATE’s design. In addition to presenting her research, Thana took this opportunity to learn more about the emerging field of HCI including - but not limited to - user experience (UX) design, natural and intelligent user interfaces, interactive Internet of Things, chatbots, and virtual/augmented realities.

Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
