UWinterloo is intended for:

• International students in Canada or abroad
• Canadian and permanent resident students

Dive into the spirit of winter at the University of Waterloo with a series of heartwarming experiences tailored just for you! 

Care package: winter essentials 

• Travel mug: Start your day with a warm sip, and let our specially designed tumbler accompany you on all your winter adventures. 

• Heat warmers: Stay cozy this winter with our hand warmers, perfect for keeping you warm during chilly days.

• Other goodies: Enjoy a selection of small treats to brighten your December and make your UWinterloo experience even more special.

Mix and mingle event:

• Socialize: Come join us for an evening of shared laughs, stories, and memories. Whether it's catching up with old pals or forging bonds with new friends, there's something for everyone. 
• Hot Beverages on the House: Relish complimentary hot drinks that keep you cozy while chatting. 
• Winter Wonderland Light Show: As darkness descends, be mesmerized by our enchanting light display that promises to turn the campus into a luminous winter paradise. 

Digital connections: 

• Holiday Newsletter: Stay in the loop with our special winter tips and updates on events around the community.

If you're looking for a community of international students, we encourage you to join the International Peer Community (IPC).

I’m living outside of the Waterloo area, can I still participate?

Absolutely! Even if you're outside the Waterloo area, you can still receive our newsletter. However, please note that in-person events like the Mix and Mingle and care package distribution do require your presence in Waterloo. 

Where can I pick up the care package?

Pickup Dates: December 4 to December 22

 Locations and timings: 

1. International Experience Centre (IEC) in Needles Hall (NH)
   • Business Hours: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Please note that the IEC will be closed for the winter break after December 20.
2.  Holiday Mixer Event
   • If you're attending the Holiday Mixer event, you can pick up your care package there as well!
