Data management plans and support
Research Data Management Services (RDMS)
- RDM services help with building data management plans, finding appropriate data repositories for data publication (e.g., Borealis: Waterloo Dataverse Collection, Federated Research Data Repository (FRDR), and connecting with an RDM librarian
Research Data Management resources - external (The Alliance)
- The Alliance provides access to national research data repositories, the data management plan assistant, training resources, and a network of topic experts
Other research data management services
IST supports other data management options, some of which may have an associated cost. Contact your Faculty IT Service Desk to initiate an inquiry.
Storage
Bulk storage: Option to purchase large amounts of centrally managed storage space.
Hosting
- Co-location: For internal campus IT groups that would like IST to host their servers for them.
- Hosted virtual servers: Allows IT administrators the ability to offload the purchase of computer hardware or operating system (OS) deployments to IST.
Data loss prevention
- Data backup and restoration: A reliable, high-performance, low-cost solution for backing up servers and workstations.
- NetApp snapmirroring: Snapmirror portions of data to IST NetApps for loss prevention purposes.
