Hillary Quinn-Austin, a Master's student with Lake Futures, successfully defended her MSc thesis in Biology. Her thesis is titled 'Movement of mature and early life stages of the Grand River walleye (Sander vitreus)population in Lake Erie’s eastern basin'. This research used acoustic telemetry and stable isotopes to examine the movement ecology of Grand River walleye relative to the Dunnville Dam, which acts as a barrier to historic upstream spawning habitat. Hillary completed this research with supervision from Mark Servos and Rebecca Rooney, and with committee members Heidi Swanson and Simon Courtenay.
Congratulations Hillary!
