Nandita was invited to speak at the Ohio State University SENR Seminar Series. Her talk was entitled, "Back to the Future: How Past Land Use Impact Current Water Quality".
Despite great effort by policy and conservation measure to decrease nutrient inputs, there's been a lack of success for improving water quality. This is likely due to nutrient legacies that have accumulated in landscapes over decades of agricultural intensification. Nandita focused on discussing these nutrient legacies and the innovative work her lab has been doing to estimate the legacy N and P accumulated in soils and groundwater.
