Toolkit Project Planning Meeting

On March 12, 2022,community partners including representatives from provincial Alzheimer societies, the Calgary Missing Older Adults Resource Network and members from the University of Waterloo research team met to assess important aspects of the Toolkit Project. Introductions, expectations, goals, and contributions were discussed between community partners and research team members.

On May 7, 2022, the University of Waterloo hosted a working meeting in Toronto, ON with multiple stakeholder organizations including individuals representing provincial Alzheimer societies, first responders, dementia specific planning groups and Peguis Nation.

This week’s SARNIF blog highlights Isabella Chawrun, a mixed method applied health researcher and current PhD student in Public Health Sciences, Aging, Health and Wellbeing Program. In her role as a Graduate Researcher, she is involved with the research activities of two initiatives under Dr. Liu’s large research project funded by Public Safety Canada.

This week’s SARNIF blog highlights Lauren McLennan, a UW Public Health graduate who has been involved with the Aging and Innovation Research program since her final undergraduate co-op term, where she worked as a Research Assistant.

Elyse Letts - Masters Student

This week’s SARNIF blog highlights Elyse Letts, who started working with the research team as a volunteer while completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at UW and is currently working on her Masters in Medical Science with a focus on pediatric exercise medicine.

This week’s SARNIF blog highlights Hector Perez, a postdoctoral fellow who works under Dr. Lili Liu and Dr. Antonio Miguel-Cruz and has a background in technology management. Hector works on Data Project SARNIF initiative, which aims to fill the knowledge gap of data on missing persons living with dementia.
