This week’s SARNIF blog highlights Isabella Chawrun, a mixed method applied health researcher and current PhD student in Public Health Sciences, Aging, Health and Wellbeing Program. In her role as a Graduate Researcher, she is involved with the research activities of two initiatives under Dr. Liu’s large research project funded by Public Safety Canada.

This post will focus on the Toolkit Initiative, see here for more information on the Dementia Friendly Resources for First Responders Initiative. The Toolkit Initiative aims to create a template of standardized and peer reviewed information that communities, persons living with dementia as well as caregivers can adapt to their specific conditions and local considerations. Isabella and the Aging and Innovation Research team is currently collecting, reviewing, and conducting a grey literature search on published toolkits and resource guides to compile the information into a practical toolkit template that communities in Canada can adapt to their needs.
