Weeks 1-4
Presidents of the MNS Society introduced the club to the student body, talked about the events run buy the society; lab events, social events, networking events, etc.
MNS Academic Advisor, Professor Rick Marta, shared valuable tips, tricks, and guidance with MNS students to help them succeed in the program and beyond.
MNS alumnus and master’s student Alexander Li shared practical advice with the student body; covering housing, insurance, and other challenges many of us face during undergrad.




Weeks 5 - 8
Professor Maheshwari and his graduate students welcomed MNS students into their lab for an engaging tour, showcasing their research space and discussing current projects and experimental setups.
MNS alumnus and master’s student Azharuddin Mohammed presented his work on time-dependent Coupled Cluster theory, highlighting exciting developments in quantum chemistry.
Professor Kevin Musselman, Associate Professor in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering, shared insights into his lab’s research on perovskite solar cells, spatial atomic layer deposition, and innovative materials for sustainable energy.




Weeks 9-12
Professor Jean Duhamel gave a talk on how to use fluorescence techniques to characterize polymer conformations, highlighting methods to analyze polymer structure, dynamics, and interactions through fluorescence spectroscopy and imaging.
Professor Hamed Shahsavan, in Chemical Engineering, gave a talk on smart materials for medical microrobotics, discussing the design and applications of responsive materials that enable precise control and functionality in tiny robotic systems for healthcare.
Professor Jim Martin gave a talk on the Stern-Gerlach interferometer, exploring its principles and applications in quantum measurement and atomic physics experiments.
