Welcome to Materials & Nanosciences Society
Welcome to the Materials & Nanosciences (MNS) Society website!
MNS bridges materials, nanotechnology and nanosciences. We are an interdepartmental effort between physics and chemistry at the University of Waterloo.
The Society represents MNS undergraduate students at the departmental, faculty, and University level. We are a voting member of Science Society, and support transparency and financial responsibility on the SciSoc Board.
We offer hands-on professional development skills and training in rigorous labs (eg. Superhydrophobic Surfaces production, Quantum Dots, and Ferrofluids) which have helped students gain valuable experience for their résumé to help them get jobs.
Waterloo's Materials & Nanosciences Program is ranked in the top 100 Materials Science Programs worldwide (QS World University Rankings 2015-2016) and an affiliated undergraduate program of the Waterloo Institute of Nanotechnology.
