What started in Spring 2024 as a simple MNS Society idea has grown into a cross-faculty tradition: the Science Clubs Bondfire. Created by MNS Co-Presidents Nayla Qureshi and Bastian Perez, the event brought together 13 science clubs and societies for the first time to build community beyond departmental lines.

Now in its second year, the Spring 2025 Bondfire featured games, food, and campfire fun—bringing students from across Science together to relax, connect, and celebrate collaboration. The Bondfire has become more than just an event; it’s a symbol of unity and the vibrant student community in the Faculty of Science.

The Federation of Students (FEDS) Fall General Meeting agenda has been released and we are proud to support three motions calling for reforms to make FEDS more transparent, democratic, and accessible to student-members both at home and abroad.

The CECA has implemented some of the most staunch Science Society's requested measures to lift the conditional censure revised at the beginning of Spring term 2017.

MNS Society encourages you to share and participate in the joint SciSoc-EngSoc-MathSoc-ESS-ASU and FEDS Co-op Student Council survey on WaterlooWorks. Help us get feedback from every corner of campus! Good criticism and feedback will improve the student experience. CECA and WaterlooWorks team have agreed to address this feedback and make changes based on the information.

Science Society Board of Directors votes to on Conditional CECA Censure Lifting

If you have been following the Science Society's censure of CECA and the subsequent polling of the student body in preparation for a meeting between the Faculty of Science student government and the CECA, then you have likely been waiting for the data dump that has been on its way for some time. That public release of information from our anonymous survey is finally here. Know in advance that this release will be lengthy, so this press release will act to overview of the total collated data. At the end of this article, you can find the total downloadable report on the survey and numerical data collected, with conclusions drawn from student commentary.
