Xi He
Dr. Xi He is a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the University of Waterloo and a member of the Vector Institute. Before joining the University of Waterloo, she was a Postdoctoral Associate at Duke University. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Duke University in 2018 and her B.S. in Mathematics from the National University of Singapore in 2012.
Dr. He's research focuses on privacy and security in big data. Her work aims to design strong and useful privacy models for data exploration and machine learning, with theoretical understanding on the trade-offs between privacy and usability of applications. She is also dedicated to developing practical systems that enable learning of useful information from data while provably ensuring individuals’ privacy.
