Yang Lu

Dr. Yang Lu received his Ph.D. in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics from the University of Southern California in 2017. He holds an M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering (2013) and a B.S. in Computer and Software Engineering (2010), both from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Dr. Lu’s research is centred on developing machine learning and statistical methods for the analysis of genomics and proteomics data. His work emphasizes interpretable machine learning, reproducible (error-controlled) machine learning, and the integration of heterogeneous data sources. He leads the BATMEN (BioinformAtics & Trustworthy Machine lEarNing) Lab, where these approaches are applied.
